The Russellville School District is seeking qualified candidates for the Oakland Heights Elementary School Principal position. Applicants must have previous administrative experience and a valid Arkansas teaching license. This is a 240-day contract.
Oakland Heights Elementary School is a Capturing Kids Hearts National Showcase School and a Level 1 High Realiabilty School.

The Elementary Principal is directly supervised and evaluated by the Executive Director of Teaching and Learning
Qualifications of Employment:
- Holds an administrator’s educator license
- Have a minimum of three years of acceptable school experience with preferably some experience in the area of administration or supervision.
- Be able to work with people, especially with teachers, parents, and pupils; demonstrate the ability to communicate with the public; and maintain a good relationship with teachers, pupils, and the general public.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Function under the policies established by the Board of Education.
- Follow and meet the LEADS 2.0 “Proficient” level of rubric expectations.
- Work under the supervision of the Superintendent of Schools.
- Communicate professionally and often with parents, staff, students, and the community.
- Lead the PLC process as the lead learner, participant, and leader in the building.
- Direct and supervise all activities of the school in order to develop and maintain the best possible educational program.
- Assist in the selection and retention of staff personnel.
- Assign all staff for the best and most efficient utilization of their abilities.
- Facilitate professional improvement of the instructional staff.
- Advise and supervise support personnel.
- Set up necessary classes and assign pupils.
- Focus on continuous school improvement.
- Plan a well-balanced instructional program within the framework of the total school system.
- Track all staff procedures following district protocols, such as absences, obtaining substitutes, etc.
- Provide leadership in continuous curriculum study, evaluation, and improvement.
- Coordinate all programs of the school.
- Give direction to the athletic program, fundraising drives, and other special activities.
- Exercise direction for the efficient operation of the school office.
- Maintain a systematic and efficient accounting system for all funds within the school in accordance with local and state regulations.
- Distribute and maintain inventories of all materials, supplies, and equipment used in the school.
- Make regular and special reports depicting the status of the school program to the Superintendent or the Executive Director of Teaching & Learning.
- Have the responsibility for use and care of his/her building.
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of the total school program.
- Report any violent student acts to appropriate law enforcement for investigation and notify the Superintendent.
- Other duties as assigned.
